The Atari 2600 arrived today. Very excited. This is actually the first one I've ever owned. My parents wouldn't let me get one. I had to go to friend's pads to enjoy the user controled pixels bonking around on a TV. My grandfather bought us a TV Pong game once but it was black and white and that's about all it did. So I guess in a psychological way I'm treating my inner child. ew. I don't like the way that sounds.
I plan on playing with it on its own for a while. It came with several games including Space Invaders, Pitfall, Pole Position, Combat, and Super Breakout. We'll see how my kids dig it. I have a feeling that they will.
In the duration I'm building my shopping list for the PC components and tools. I've created a Yahoo! My Web list that will have everything I need. I'll try to keep it up to date and will note when I've purchased something and other details.
This weekend is Father's Day. I just want to take this opportunity to say that I have the best kids in the world, and this "father" couldn't be more proud.
The above statement is absolutely true, but maybe they'll get me a Dremel now.
