Welcome to the wonderful world of beach (hah!). I have a couple of things to get out of the way before I get into this thing... I'm using TypePad for the first time. I've been a blogger user since 2000 and have gotten used to their simple approach. TypePad has complicated things a bit in their attempt (I think) to make things simple. For example, right now I'm looking at an interface that has global navigation, breadcrumbs, a main set of tabs, a sub set of tabs and beneath that sub-navigation. Now it all makes sense on the surface, but it can get a little out of control when you start to use it. I believe in the long run a TypePad or Movable Type solution is probably the best for me, but it's going to take some getting used to. My biggest concern is the ability to edit the template and the code behind it. I'm sure it can be done, but it's not obvious. I do like their idea of TypeLists or blog rolls, pretty simple and now that I know I can place in Java Script or other HTML I feel more comfortable about using this service.
That's it for now. This is my first post... I'll dig a little deeper into the reason I'm doing this coming up. In the duration you can read my "about page"... and trust me, I will be editing that as soon as people know a little more about me. I've been told that people don't know much about my background and history, so I'll put some of that in the bio and then spend the first few posts talking about my background to get it out of the way. Then on to the good stuff.
