So it's been raining like a freak in Santa Cruz this winter and some issues have come up with regard to my house and its construction. The house was originally built in 1925 using redwood milled from the property. About two years ago, a contractor bought it as an investment and totally remodeled it. New foundation, new wood construction, new fixtures, new everything. The only thing that's used is the basic floor plan some antique light fixtures, some windows, and much of the original redwood beams and flooring. So the house has a new but rustic feel. It's quirky, but perfect for me and my family.
But with any new construction, there are some issues. The roof leaks in a few spots, we need shelving, and some other stuff. So, here's the list:
- Fix the roof. Flashing, seals, etc.
- Fix the roof over the garage. Seals
- New window that opens for Isaac's room
- Gravel in the driveway and parking area (driveway now a mud bath)
- Screens for most windows
- Bookshelf for living room
- Custom ladder for loft/mystery room
- Electrical outlets for deck and loft/mystery room
- Shelving for Laundry Room
- Plastic sheeting under the house
- Get the damn toilet seat to stay up in the master bath
